The people of Malaysia, or shall I say the 'opposition'(?) as in all those who oppose the government's policies lumped together, have to think ahead of what obstacles the authorities might place to prevent such a huge gathering. Already the de facto PM or the man without portfolio had stated that the march should be stopped. It would be interesting to know how the PDRM will handle this open conflict.

At 11.00am this morning, a delegation from BERSIH went to the Istana Negara to hand deliver a letter to Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Alwathiqubillah Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin ibni Almarhum Sultan Mahmud Almuktafi Billah Shah. The letter was basically to inform Tuanku about the rakyat’s ‘visit’ to the Istana on Saturday, 10 November 2007.
The Istana has asked BERSIH to submit the names of the representatives of the 100,000 delegation who will be going into the Istana to deliver the Rakyat’s Memorandum. Invariably, 100,000 people will not be able to go into the Istana. This is an indication that Tuanku has perkenan (consented) to receive the representatives of the 100,000 delegation.

In the 04 GE, the Subang Jaya state seat was a walk-over for Lee Hwa Beng. The oppossition candidate was disqualified as he was faulted for failing to report to the IRB his expenses within 30 days after the last general election in which he contested and lost.

That lady is three times the MP that Nazri is.
The BN, through electoral gerrymandering, has slowly eroded the principle of “one man, one vote.” Districts that have traditionally demonstrated strong support for opposition parties often have disproportionately large populations when compared to those districts that have traditionally supported the BN.
The original 1957 Constitution contained a provision limiting the size discrepancy between any two districts to no more than 15%. This restriction, however, has since been eliminated by constitutional amendments in 1962 and 1973.

DAP's Fong Kui Lun won with a 286 majority. Razor thin. He received 19,107 votes. whereas the BN candidate received 18,821 votes.
Did you know that that 4,465 of her votes came from postal votes? 24% of her votes, from a voting process which to quote Nazri, "Parliament does not have a say how the army carries out the manner of voting. " when asked, "Why are political parties not allowed to send representatives to oversee postal voting. Is the postal voting system a fraud, an operational centre for the BN to maintain power?""
No wonder why Lim Kit Siang, and even Haris Ibrahim are concerned about the sudden appearance of 3,000 postal voters given that there are no new police stations or army barracks in the area.
The Election Commission is seen as one of the primary instruments through which the BN has manipulated the election process for its own political gain. We need to voice out our grievances, and fight for a fair election.
The Bersih March is a call to Kembalikan Hak Rakyat.
It is a a peaceful rally to press for reforms in the electoral system to ensure free and fair elections. A memorandum will also be handed by BERSIH representatives to His Majesty the Yang Dipertuan Agung."
