How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Hear Hear... majority group in Malaysia being marginalized

Waking up from last night's fever because of toothache, I could not believe when I read Father of all frogs, Ibrahim Ali's quote:

Citing the United Nation’s charter, Ibrahim also said affirmative action policies for “the economically-marginalised majority group” must remain because the majority’s agenda was the “national agenda”.

Something is wrong somewhere. I was sure UN's Charter normally protects minority groups being bullied by majority groups. Here we have majority group being marginalized in a country run by the same group! Either the ruling party failed or the majority failed. Can you imagine a football match played by a team of 11 against 5, with the referee biased towards the 11, yet the bigger team complained the match was unfair against them!
