How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Whites in USA under siege?

They should be, especially with a black President, if going by Tun Dr. Mahathir's logic that the Malays in Malaysia are under siege because they are divided and some are under the influence of non-Malays. Just one out of 13 states under a Chinese Chief Minister and the Malays are worried to no end?

If I were him, I would feel guilty as well as despondent for having failed to uplift their financial standing and education significantly as Prime Minister for 22 years.

If I were a Malay, I would feel insulted for being looked upon as being unable to look after myself without special privileges.

If I were a foreigner, I would feel it does not make sense that a majority race of over 60% could be under siege when the PM, DPM, and most of the senior Ministers are Malays, as well as more than 90% of the armed forces, police, and civil servants too.

If the Malays are divided now and they are vulnerable to the influence of the crafty non-Malays, what makes him think the Chinese and Indians are not similarly divided because of different political ideologies?

The population of the Malays are increasing at a higher rate because of higher birth rates and polygamy, so the future can only be more Malays in percentage term. So what is this fear of Malays under siege? Being under 'siege' means being surrounded by enemies about to attack, so could a majority race be surrounded by minorities under such aggressive circumstances? It does not make sense, does it?
