How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

KTM Batu Gajah railway station...

is a place of many 'Cannots' or 'Do Nots'! This sign speaks for itself...

For all its multi-million Ringgit investment, this station is only for ticketing, boarding and disembarking. It is not meant to be a self-contained station with some basic services. The cafe is only recently added, with little business to appear profitable. Even the lights at night were only switched on minutes before a train arrives. This morning, the ticketing office was opened a few minutes late. There was a slight improvement in the opening hours: 8.30 am to 6.00 pm, it used to have a lunch break which inconvenienced those who came at the wrong time. My wife commented that they did not know they are providing a service.

This morning, there was a young Malay lady who said she was at the station since 7.30 am! A good example of someone who got a lift there because there is still no public transport available, even though she knew the train was scheduled to arrive BG at 9.29 am. In fact it was 6 minutes late.
