How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Najib's denial reminds me of Tariq Aziz

Just imagine: after Bersih and planned rally declared illegal; after 91 declared by court order that they cannot be in KL; after almost all roads leading into KL blocked to prevent vehicles entering; after bus permits from outstation were cancelled or not given out; our PM found it fit to belittle those brave ones who risked injury and faced as 'a small group of people'!

Malaysiakini: Najib praises folk for opposing illegal rally

'Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak praised the people who attended the launching of the National Cooperatives Day 2011 in Putrajaya today which showed that the people opposed the illegal rally
organised by a small group of people in the country.

“It's obvious that the thousands who are present (here today) are those who are against the illegal rally planned by a section of our community.

“If there are people who want to hold the illegal rally, there are even more who are against their plan to hold the illegal gathering,” he said when launching the National Cooperatives Day 2011.'
