How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

In California, you cannot bite a snake...

Spotted this in Malaysia Chronicle:

An unfortunate python underwent emergency surgery after a man in California allegedly bit it twice.

Animal control officers had to sew up a two-inch hole in the snakes belly.

"You could see the poor snake's liver, all the way down the side," said one of them.

A few of its ribs were missing.

David Senk, who allegedly bit the snake, was arrested for animal cruelty.

From jail, he told FOX40 he has no memory of biting the snake, and admits he has a drinking problem.

“I did what?”, asked Senk when questioned by FOX40’s Lonnie Wong.

"If you find the owner, tell him I'm real sorry. I'm glad the snake will be all right. I'm willing to help pay for medica expenses," said Senk.

Senk was arrested on suspicion of unlawfully maiming or mutilating a reptile. He was booked on $10,000 (RM30,000) bail.

The recuperating python could not be reached for comment.

Seems like a joke because if you were bitten by the snake instead, would it be ok?
