How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

LKS is one up on Dr Mahathir

No, not because he was once Mr. Opposition, nor that he had tasted hospitality in Kamunting.

It is simply because he has a son who is a Chief Minister, of Penang!

For now, Tun Dr. Mahathir can only hope that his third son, Mukhriz, can be Menteri Besar of Kedah: if he wins his state seat (if given the chance); if BN wins Kedah; and if he is proposed as the MB! There are so many 'ifs' which might not happen, or beyond even Tun's control!

"Jun 29: Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he would support his son, deputy International Trade and Industry minister Mukhriz Mahathir, if the latter was named as a Menteri Besar candidate if BN wins back Kedah.

“If he is proposed as the Menteri Besar (Kedah), I will support,” Mahathir told an interview today.

Mukhriz, his third son, has been speculated to contest a state seat in the next general election..."
