How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Downton Abbey: getting to know the characters and cast

Very often, we watch movies, tv serials and so on, without knowing the characters involved nor those actors or actresses who acted in them. Sometimes, we even lost the plot and did not bother to find out. Personally, I find it more interesting if I can remember the names of characters in a film.

(L-R): Butler, Charles Carson (Jim Carter); Housekeeper, Mrs. Elsie Hughes (Phyllis Logan); Lady Grantham's Lady's Maid, Sarah O'Brien (Siobhan Finneran); Cook, Mrs. Patmore (Lesley Nicol); Kitchen Maid, Daisy Robinson (Sophie McShera); Housemaid, Ethel Parks (Amy Nuttall); 2nd Footman, William Mason (Thomas Howes); Lord Grantham's Valet, John Bates (Brendan Coyle); Head Housemaid, Anna Smith (Joanne Froggatt); 1st Footman, Thomas Barrow (Rob James-Collier); Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens); Dowager Countess of Grantham, Lady Violet Crawley (Dame Maggie Smith); Earl of Grantham, Lord Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville); Countess of Grantham, Lady Cora Crawley (Elizabeth McGovern); Mrs. Isobel Crawley (Penelope Wilton); Lady Mary Crawley (Michelle Dockery); Lady Edith Crawley (Laura Carmichael); and Lady Sybil Crawley (Jessica Brown-Findlay).

The picture below is just some of the staff working downstairs of Downton Abbey...
