Transcript of Global Witness video

"AN UNDERCOVER investigator from Global Witness (GW) was sent last May to Sarawak where he posed as a "foreign investor" looking to buy land to set up oil palm plantations.

The GW video posted on YouTube two days ago Inside Malaysia's Shadow State, the investigator approached various parties including the state government and the Regional Corridor Development Authority. 

He was reportedly later directed to Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud's family members.

Below is an excerpt of discussions between the undercover investigator and two lawyers purportedly involved in land transactions and tax evasion.

The conversations revolve between GW investigator and lawyers Alvin Chong, Huang Lung Ong as well as two daughters of former Sarawak chief minister Tun Abdul Rahman Ya'akub, Norlia and Fatimah, who are also the first cousins of Taib..."
